Kansas City Nationals!

Each year, the National Martial Arts Alliance holds a national tournament, where schools, students, and instructors from all over the nation gather together to participate in training and competition and to connect with friends and taekwondo family. This year, Nationals was held in Kansas City, Missouri, a new location for the annual tournament.

Six different families, totaling 24 competitors, instructors, and family members traveled to the “Show Me State” to show out and show up for Superior Martial Arts. Our pack brought back not only a slew of medals, but also some amazing competitor attitudes and stories. Our “Team Colorado” 40+ sparring team, including two students from Superior Martial Arts, brought home the gold in open hand and weapons sparring, as well!

The next local tournament, “Mile High Madness,” will be held in Golden on November 11, hosted by Grand Master Nominee Horn and Master Horn. If you are interested in competing in a tournament, this one would be a great entry into that world. Tournaments can take your martial arts to the next level and can give you a new goal in training. It’s another venue to help give you confidence, determination, and focus. If you would like more information on preparing for or competing in a tournament, you can ask your instructor during regular class times. Spectator badges are also available at tournaments for those who would like to go cheer on our schools’ competitors. Registration is available online through the National Martial Arts Alliance website.
